SDP International held a meeting on Saturday, February 1st, where we discussed the future of the network and its structure.
During the meeting, we decided to move forward by establishing SDP International branches in Helsinki, Vantaa, and Espoo. The network will continue to serve as a platform that connects these branches.
To support this structure, the network will have its own board, which will function as a project team. This team will be responsible for communication, event planning, membership engagement, and organizing meetings and visits. The new board will be elected at our next meeting on May 17th at 12:00.
Call for Candidates – SDP International Board
The SDP International Board will consist of the chairs of the SDP International branches, forming the Presidium, along with four additional board members.
Are you interested in joining the board? If so, please submit your application by May 1st using this form. The descriptions of the candidates will be shared with SDP International members after the application deadline.
Selection Process – May 17 Meeting
During the meeting on May 17, we will elect:
- The Presidium (three chairs) – Since the branches do not yet exist, three interim chairs will be selected. Once the branches are established, their elected chairs will take over these positions. We invite applications from individuals in Helsinki, Espoo, and Vantaa who plan to run as branch chairs.
Note: The chair of a branch is elected by its members, not by the network. Being selected for the Presidium does not guarantee becoming a branch chair. - Four Additional Board Members – These members will support key areas such as communication, events, secretarial duties, and membership engagement. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds.
Together, the Presidium and the additional board members will form a project team responsible for organizing meetings and events. The board is elected annually.
